Suitable for players aged 10 and up, this game uses a standard 52-card pack and can be enjoyed both online and offline. You can play it as a single player and kill your boredom. Read on to discover how to play Klondike.

OBJECT OF THE GAME

The goal of the Klondike card game is to build four foundation piles, each starting with an Ace and moving in ascending order to the King. All cards are lined in the same suit.

The Deal

Klondike starts with seven tableau piles. Cards are dealt so the first pile has one card, the second has two, and so forth until the seventh pile has seven cards. Only the top card of each pile is faced up, and the rest remain face-down. The remaining cards form the draw or stockpile, which you can draw from during gameplay.

Foundations

The game of Klondike requires four foundation piles, each representing one suit. You must place cards in these piles in an ascending order from Ace to King. Following the Klondike card game rules, you only move the cards that are the next in the sequence and match the suit to a foundation.

HOW TO PLAY

The gameplay in Klondike involves moving cards between tableau piles and to the foundations. You can place the cards one after the other in alternate colours. For example, a black 2 after a red 3). You move only one card at a time unless a sequence of cards is stacked in descending order and moved together.

You can draw cards from the stockpile one at a time or in groups of three. Using the stock cards helps you uncover hidden cards and progress through the game Klondike card game rules, which also allow you to move tableau cards and fill up foundation piles.

A clear strategy to play Klondike is to plan your moves ahead, uncovering cards in the tableau, and understanding the cards you can play next.

Winning

To win the Klondike game, you must transfer all cards to the foundation piles in the correct order – from Ace to King, across all four suits.
